20th Mar 2008 Sasha Amazing to see this booklet again - my mother had it when I was a kid, and it's an instant memory transporter - I remember she used to wave that chart at me whenever I wanted to stay up late! We also had to drink strange-tasting orange juice which came in little fat bottles to get our Vit C intake! I'm glad to find that chart though - very helpful...

11th Mar 2008 Susannah I am slightly appalled to see that my 9-year-old is getting at least half an hour and often a whole hour less sleep than she should each night!

11th Mar 2008 Nicky What intrigues me about this table is that they assume different getting up times for each age group, ranging from 6am for a 17 year old (rather unlikely I would think) to 8 am for a 2 year old (equally unlikely in my experience) with different ages rising randomly at 6.30, 7.00 and 7.30 am in between. It must make co-ordinating alarm clocks and breakfast rather difficult. Good fun to read though and extra ammunition when trying to achieve some discipline.
