Nonsense Poetry

A bit like Heads, Bodies and Legs, but in this version everyone joins together to write complete poems, a line at a time. A good winter afternoon activity in front of a roaring fire.

You'll need:
Sheets of plain paper
Pencils

Give everyone a piece of paper and a pencil. Each player thinks up the first line of a poem, and writes it down on the top of the paper. They pass the paper to the player on their left. They each reach the line of poetry, then write a second line (rhyming or not) underneath it. They then fold the top of the paper down so only the last line of poetry is seen, and pass it on to the left.
Keep playing in this way until you've each written eight or so lines of poetry. Give the poem a title, then pass it on to the left again.
The poems are then unfolded and read out loud to lots of laughter at the poignant, rude or funny results.
