Dig For Victory

Good Friday is the traditional day for planting potatoes, beans and peas. It was the day that Catholics used to bless their spuds with holy water to bring a good crop.

The kids will enjoy helping you dig and plant out radish and greens seeds, and seed potatoes in the garden - give them their own patch if you can, which they can water and look after. Oh and any beekeepers out there might like to know that, traditionally, Good Friday was considered the only good day in the year on which to move your beehives.
