Good question Georgie. I have never tried a Quince but do have experience of using them in cookery and think that you will need strong hands to carve. Having said that they are a good shape for a head and may be drier so you could get a great result. Do have a go, I would love to hear how you get on. I might even have to take on the challenge myself? |

Can you make these heads from other fruits as well? They look great and as I have a quince glut at the moment, I thought of using quinces instead of apples - there is just about two weeks for them to shrivel before Hallowe'en! But carving the drier flesh of quinces would be much harder than apples - do you think quinces would shrivel in the same way? |
